Colleen Higgins the therapist who has been in a controversial spot after she allegedly duped her friends and clients alike and took off with hundreds of thousands of dollars is finally been termed wanted by the Atlanta police. This incident took place last spring when Higgins approached people and told them that she was in dire need of some money which she wanted for her legal fees, she convinced them that she was in midst of a law suit and was expected to not only win but also was also claiming to gain quite a settlement amount. The people she conned reported to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that they believed her as she was very close to them and in case of the Weber family who she knew for about three decades and who helped her with 50,000 was also the God mother of their youngest child. When the victims of Higgins deception, made legal complaints against her, the Atlanta police started their investigation however unfortunately for the victims Police consider it illegal only when there is a fraud committed and not when there is a default on a loan, and hence there was nothing that they could do legally against Higgins. Last Tuesday however the Atlanta Police did reconsider their investigation and filed 8 warrants against Higgins. The warrants are registered in the Fulton County Superior Court and are by reason of theft by deception. Jeff Owens the detective who filed the warrants could not be reached for any comments and the Police Department spokesman could put not more light on this case. Higgins's Condo is in foreclosure and her office phone has been disconnected since last spring. People who have been waiting for the Atlanta Police to take action are happy that this case will further be pursued and hope that Higgins is caught before she spends all their money . |
