Atlanta's Braves director of international scouting operations, Johny Almaraz said that this was a significant signing for them. He also said that Salcedo has an outstanding makeup, and the combination of his hitting and fielding ability makes him one of the top players on an international level.

Braves' general manager frank wren described him as Very Impressive after watching his video. The Braves started their aggressive pursuit of saldeco after paying Major League Baseball to make an investigation for his age verification and as it was determined that he was born in 1991, all the earlier suspicions were backed.

With his talents, some Braves talent evaluators has even compared Saldeco to the famous Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez. Based on the way Atlanta handled Yunel Escobar, there's every reason to believe that Saldeco will spend most of the new season with Class A Rome. Braves have regularly kept many of its top young prospective players in Rome for the most of their first full season in the professional baseball.
