Atlanta Area - Gwinnett County, GA Master Locksmith, Kevin Wilson calls for licensing of locksmiths. "Fraudulent practices of unscrupulous persons posing as locksmiths are a real problem in Atlanta, and across the country, says Wilson. Citing a recent case in Nashville, TN, where a judge ordered "Dependable Locks" out of the State of Tennessee, after accumulating $75,000 in fines for fraudulent acts, Mr. Wilson says, "We need this type of enforcement in Georgia."

"Dependable Locks" operates in almost every state under a variety of alias names. "These scammers, mostly Israeli foreign nationals, have come into OUR country on work Visas, are not legitimate citizens, do not have local business licenses, have little to no training as a locksmith, and have absolutely no conscience or ethics about how much they charge for their BUTCHER work. They leave pins out of locks, making the locks able to be picked with a paper clip, literally. We have photographed and documented their work (if that is what you can call it)," says Kevin Wilson. In November, federal agents arrested two owners of Dependable Locks in Florida. They are accused of instructing employees to overcharge and deceive customers.
