When most people think of a rave, the image that comes to mind is one of a throng of intoxicated young people swaying to a blaring techno beat in some abandoned warehouse or "alternative" club, sometimes with clouds of foam cascading down upon the revelers. Tomorrow, however, a different kind of rave will be happening here in Atlanta, and you don't have to be part of some secretive clique to find it and be admitted.

Sales trainer, business consultant, and self-described "interactive lifestyle marketing" maven Tony Rouse figured it was time to let the "normal" crowd in on the fun, promote some local businesses, and help some folks that have been hardest hit by the economy at the same time. And what better way than by putting on a "food rave?"

The proof is in the pudding (sorry... couldn't resist!), with Rouse's first Atlanta Food Rave. The event will be held tomorrow night, August 27th, from 7~11 p.m. at the Mason Murer Fine Art Gallery, 199 Armour Drive, here in Atlanta. Five renowned local chefs will be featured: Chef Alex Friedman, of P'cheen International Bistro & Pub; Chef Delroy Bowen, of Georgia International Convention Center and Proof of the Pudding (get it now?); Chef Keira Moritz of Pacci Ristorante and AltoRex Rooftop Lounge; Chef Lance Gummere, of The Shed of Glenwood; and Chef LaToya Starks, of Noorish Personal Chef and Catering Services.

Each chef will be preparing surprise culinary delights at their individual food stations, and guests will have the opportunity to vote for their personal favorite. In addition, there will be musical entertainment and complimentary "signature" cocktails. Admittance to the Rave is $55 per person, with part of the proceeds going to the Atlanta Community Food Bank.

Further details and ticket purchases are available online at www.atlantafoodrave.com or via phone at 404-856-0157. Be advised that tickets will not be sold at the door. And no, you needn't wear foam-proof attire, and any pictures you take will be safe to place on your FaceBook page.
